The name of my practice reflects some of my personal interests; nature, and hiking. I’ve always appreciated the “journey” and feel that my role as a therapist is to witness and support the life journey of others.

About
Jenna Korim
I have 15 years of experience in providing individual mental health therapy. My Bachelors in Psychology was obtained from SUNY Binghamton in 2007 and I received my Masters in Social Work from SUNY Albany in 2009. I am a LCSWR (Licensed Clinician Social Worker, 2011) and PMHC (Perinatal Mental Health Certified, 2022).

I use approaches that blend education, an understanding of the mind-body relationship, evaluating behaviors and thoughts that might not be supportive, and exploring attachment dynamics in relationships.

Individual counseling with me may be for you if:
-
You’ve spent so much of your life being hard on yourself — pushing your needs aside, battling guilt, and feeling stuck in cycles of never being ‘enough.'
-
Parenthood often magnifies this pressure, leaving you exhausted and questioning if you’re doing it right.
-
You may also be yearning to break free from diet culture’s grip — to find a way of living that feels nourishing, not punishing.
-
You just can't seem to settle, in your brain and/or body
-
Fear, worry, low motivation and/or going through the motions are keeping you from feeling present
-
You want to understand your patterns and behaviors in relationships with others and/or yourself

My approaches stem from attachment-based concepts to help you understand where these patterns began, soften your inner critic, and build a more secure and compassionate relationship with yourself. I also believe that mental health is not just about the brain but involves the stories our bodies tell. Nervous system and somatic approaches are weaved into my work.

Since mental health is not the only aspect of overall health, I believe it is important to look at the whole picture, which also includes nutrition, movement, social, cultrual, and spiritual health. If needs arise that are beyond how I can support, I work to connect you with providers who can.

-
early postpartum loss
-
pregnancy that did not go as planned
-
pregnancy after loss

Non-birthing partners are also impacted by the above experiences and are served in my practice too.
If you are a therapist looking to seek growth and obtain feedback on challenging cases, I offer 1:1 clinical supervision.

Together we can explore case dynamics and the emotional impact of this work--while honoring your unique skillset and values as a clinician.

My approaches pull from Somatic work, Attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, Trauma informed, & Cognitive Behavioral. I am also trained in Perinatal Mental Health.
